Blast in Derge County - in Tibet

Tibet Times (Bod Kyi Dus Bab) reports a 32-year-old Dase a.k.a Tashi from
Derge County bombed a government office early in the morning at around 3.50
am on 24 Feb. It is reported that Dase died in the incident.
Although the names of villages could not be ascertained in the 2000 China
statistical yearbook, the target of the incident is a government office
located in between Rekpa Village and Wapa Village under Nyenkor Township.


Extremism is on rise in Tibet as this is the fourth bombing incident
since 2008 if I recall correctly. Under the current climate of repression,
this trend is most likely to escalate as a form of protest in response to
the State actions.
