ITN Launches ‘Stand up for Tibet’ Campaign/ENG

DHARAMSHALA: The International Tibet Network has launched ‘Stand up for Tibet’ campaign, a clarion call for Tibetans and supporters across the world take part in worldwide vigils on 8 February.

The worldwide vigils, called by the Central Tibetan Administration, will be organised in view of the critical situation in Tibet following the series of self-immolations by Tibetans in the last one year and the Chinese police killing of Tibetans in the last two weeks.

The International Tibet Network is a global coalition of Tibet-related non-governmental organisations. Its purpose is to maximise the effectiveness of the worldwide Tibet movement. It works to increase the capacity of individual member organisations, develops coordinated strategic campaigns, and encourages increased cooperation among organisations, thereby strengthening the Tibet movement as a whole. It currently has over 180 member organisations.
