DHARAMSHALA, Feb. 20: Former Tibetan Prime Minister Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche on Tuesday said that the issue of Tibet need not be viewed from complicated political and ideological parameters, rather should be viewed simply as a matter of “truth vs. falsehood” and “justice vs. injustice.”

The former academician turned politician was speaking on “The Importance of the Tibet issue in the world” on the invitation of a Wales based NGO Zari Tibet, at Gangchen Kyishong this afternoon.

Prof. Samdhong said that the Tibetan issue is neither a conflict between different races of Tibetan and Chinese, nor a fight between political ideologies but rather an “endeavor between truth vs. falsehood and justice vs. injustice.

The former PM spoke on the importance of Tibet with emphasis on three fronts; its religion, culture and environment with regards to the world.

Rinpoche said that only in Tibetan language survives the most complete and qualitatively superior translation of the ancient texts of Buddhism, that has more volumes compared to other translated texts in Pali, Sanskrit as well as Chinese combined.

Rinpoche said that the growing interest in Buddhism and Tibetan culture among westerners and other parts of the world shows the potential of the subject to benefit humanity and people of the world.

The Tibetan monk who is widely regarded as the trusted aide of the exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that the international community must see to the survival of Tibet and its people, who are non-violently pursuing the “Middle Way Approach” seeking autonomy under China. He said that in a world leaning on violence, International community should support a non-violent model of “Tibet’s endeavor”.
