Chinese security forces shot dead Gurgon Tsering and arrested Gonpo Kyab in Achok, Amdo Ladrang/ENG

On the night of 8th Janaury, Chinese security forces from Achok town, Ladrang dzong security forces and Peoples Armed Police raided the house of Gonpo Kyab(35) in Ladrang Achok Tsowai Nanpan Depa. While the security forces were on the process of arresting Gonpo Kyab and Gurgon Tsering(35). A security personel shot dead Gurgon Tsering through a window of the house. Gonpa Kyab was later arrested. Gurgon Tsering has arrived as a guest in Gonpo Kyab’s house from Ngagoe Depa. They were suspected of stealing tents erected for workers involved in the contruction of a military airport nearby Achok Town.

Tibetans in Achok town has protested the construction of the airport since 2009. Though the construction abruptly stopped in 2010 but it restart last year. The Chinese officials have employed various means to dissaude Tibetan protest against the construction of the airport by trying to destroy the unity of the Tibetans and creating internal distrust and fued etc but in vain.
