DHARAMSHALA, September 6: The police have arrested 17-year-old Jonathan Perry in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Tibetan boy Tenzin Kunkhyen last week in Somerville city.

The incident took place inside a home on Farragut Avenue in Somerville city around 5 p.m. on August 29. Kunkhyen, 16, was rushed to Mount Auburn Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to a gunshot wound on the chest. The deceased attended Somerville High School and had emigrated from India years ago.

According to the police, Jonathan has been held without bail pending arraignment. He also has an outstanding arrest warrant in Worcester Juvenile Court.

However, the police told Boston 25 News that Jonathan (17) was not a suspect in the shooting of Kunkhyen, but instead were looking for more information about what took place inside the home at 14 Farragut Avenue where he lived.

The police have so far not said that Jonathan has been charged in the shooting, but the teen has been on the run since Tuesday. He was arrested along with Keith Harlow, 31, in an apartment in Arlington. The Arlington police have charged Harlow with possession of heroin, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

The police have released little information about what happened inside the Perry’s home that night. However, they confirmed that the two teenagers knew each other.
