Szangaj elnök jókívánságai Indiának függetlensége 71. évfordulóján

DHARAMSHALA, August 15: The President of the Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay greeted the people and government of India on its 71st Independence Day at an official ceremony to mark the day at Gangchen Kyishong.

The Harvard educated Tibetan leader expressed his ‘wish and pray’ that India will become the greatest country in the world. “May its economy and stature flourish around the world,” said the President after the Indian flag unfurling ceremony at the Kashag Secretariat.

Dr. Sangay thanked the government of India and its people for hosting His Holiness the Dalai Lama, CTA and the Tibetan people since coming into exile. He also added that no country has done more than what India has done for Tibetans and said that every Tibetan is ‘eternally grateful’.

Following the ceremony at the Kashag Secretariat, Sikyong attended the Kangra district official Independence Day celebrations at the Police ground in Lower Dharamshala.

President Sangay, in his message to fellow Tibetans, said, “India was under British rule for 200 years. However, the people, freedom fighters and leaders had fought for India’s independence without losing hope and especially protecting its identity. So it is imperative that we must do the same.”

“India’s Republic Day and Independence Day are two important days for CTA to observe and that was the reason why I had cut short the duration of my Australia visit,” said the President.
