DHARAMSHALA, August 20: A Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader said that Tibet should be free, either through Middle Way or Independence.

Indresh Kumar, speaking at a press conference organized by the Parliamentary Secretariat in Dharamshala, expressed hopes that Beijing will resume dialogue with Central Tibetan Administration. He also urged China to protect Tibet’s unique culture and heritage and safe guard its fragile environment from destructions in the name of development.

He also suggested that Tibet should be reestablished as the buffer zone.

“China has never been a natural neighboring country to India. There were only 78 personnel, 26 Tibetans and 52 Indians, stationed at the 13 check-posts throughout the Indo-Tibet border before the occupation. Now there are over two lakh army deployed in the same 13 check-posts armed with heavy arms and ammunitions,” said the RSS leader, who has been involved with the Tibetan movement for over 17 years.

The founder of Himalaya Parivar & Patron of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch ironically said that the heavy arms and ammunitions, big roads and missile base through the border area is not built to prove their love towards Tibet or India.

“They have spent so much money in the Himalayan region where the population is small. These expenditures are indications of China’s plan to conquer the whole Himalayan region,” he said.

The politician stated that he does not hate China but the world community and Asian countries, especially the Himalayan region, should stay alert and aware of them and their colonialist ambitions.

“Peace and brotherhood is the only way for further development and good governance. If China wants peace and brotherhood, they should let go off their repressive and violent imperialism,” said the veteran RSS leader.

Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, responding to the recently published article ‘Tibet's exiles in India confront an uncertain future’ in Nikkei Asian Review, said that India would never take such measure and would never discuss such matter.

In the article, it was reported that during 2014 Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India, the two leaders discussed situation of Tibetans after the demise of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It quoted a RSS politician sating the Tibetans living in exile would be giving Indian citizen, stop new exiles coming through Nepal to India and abolish the Tibetan exile government. In exchange, China would not officially lay claim on Indian territories including Sikkim, Arunachal and parts of J&K.
