It was Tinanmen Square decades ago when the world saw how brutal Chinese authorities are with their own people. The illegal Chinese occupation of Tibet cannot continue forever. The illegal threatening of Taiwan cannot continue forever. The interior of China is full of dissatisfaction and discontent. According to media reports, an open letter posted on the Internet and signed by more than 50 Chinese scholars and intellectuals condemns the killing of at least three Chinese villagers in the town of Dongzhoukeng and compares the incident to the 1989 military crackdown on demonstrators in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, Reuters reported Dec. 13. In the letter, the group calls on the Chinese government to publish the names of those killed in the protest, begin an investigation into the killings, punish those involved and allow domestic media to report on the event.
