Egy szomorú történet a gyönyörű tibeti zászló mögött

2012. március 26./CTA/TibetPress

Jelenleg csak angolul olvasható. Magyarul később.

LIBRIZZI: An Italian girl of about 13 years old read a short moving poem about Tibet at town hall meeting in Librizzi, a small Sicilian town in Italy.

The Tibetan flag is a very beautiful flag, her poem read. But as I read more about Tibet, the present situation there today, it makes me very sad, she said.

32 students of the Librizzi middle school in Sicily undertook a school project on Tibet. Each of the students read their poem at the town hall meeting on Tibet. Children held posters that they had drawn on Tibet. Their poems were posted in the town hall.

The Mayor of Librizzi and the Association Italian-Tibet jointly organised the meeting.

Mr Tseten Samdup Chhoekyapa, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Representative based in Geneva, thanked the Mayor for organising the town hall meeting. He expressed his appreciation to the school’s teacher and students for their poems on Tibet.

He said that he hopes the students will continue their interest in Tibet and become spokespersons on behalf of the Tibetan people as they grow up.

As part of the two days Tibet event in the region, a conference was organised at the town hall in Patti on the morning of 25 March.

Mr Mauro Aquino, the Mayor of Patti welcomed the speakers and Mr Claudio Cardelli, Association Italian-Tibet President, introduced the speakers.

The Italian Tibet scholar and long time Tibetan supporter Mr Piero Verni spoke in detail about Tibetan history and Tibetan people’s distinct culture, religion, language and identity.

Mr Santi Formica, the Vice-President of the Regional Sicilian Parliament spoke on Sicilian autonomy within the Italian state and the Tibetan’s right to autonomy from China.

The President of Tibetan Community in Italy Mrs Kalsang Dolkar give a moving speech in Italian about the present condition in Tibet and the self-immolation of 30 Tibetans.

Mr Chhoekyapa thanked the Mayor and people of Patti for expressing their solidarity with the Tibetan people.

He said the Tibetan peoples in Tibet were suffering under the Chinese government’s repressive policies aimed at destroying Tibetan culture, religion, language and way of life.  The demonstrations and the 30 self-immolations by Tibetans in Tibet were against these policies.

Tibetans were not seeking separation or independence from China, he said, but seeking a genuine autonomy that will safeguard Tibetan culture, religion, language and way of life.

“The Tibetan struggle is not against the Chinese people,” said Mr Chhoekyapa. “It is against the Chinese government’s policies.” He said that the international community must support the non-violent struggle of the Tibetan people.

Over 250 people – local civil leaders and students attended the conference. The Tibetan national flag was hoisted at the both the municipal offices.

The two days event on Tibet was organised by Regional Parliament of Sicily, Librizzi and Patti Municipal, local Lions Club, Tibetan Community in Italy and Association Italian-Tibet.
