DHARAMSHALA, Feb. 12: Following the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) comprehensive win in the Delhi elections, the exiled Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the exile Tibetan leadership have sent congratulatory messages to AAP President and incumbent Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Dalai Lama wrote, “The people of Delhi will continue to benefit from your able leadership. As I mentioned to you on 2nd July 2018 when we launched the Happiness Curriculum for Government Schools in New Delhi, I have deep admiration for the efforts that you and your government have made towards shaping better, happier human beings with improved values.”

The octogenarian Tibetan leader while expressing his admiration for launching a curriculum on inner values added, “Through such initiatives, you are showing a path to the rest of India”.

The President of the exile Tibetan government known officially as the Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay said, “I would like to congratulate you and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for winning a third consecutive term with a resounding in the Delhi election. The victory reflects the trust the people of Delhi has in your leadership and the party. We are always grateful for the support the Delhi government has rendered towards the Tibetans living in Delhi, particularly in the Tibetan colony in Majnu-ka-till.”

Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, of Tibetan Parliament in Exile expressed gratitude for the support and facilities for the Tibetans residing in Delhi in colonies like New Aruna Nagar and Budh Vihar. He wrote, “Your government have especially helped the Tibetan Winter Market of Lal Quila after the unfortunate incident of fire mishap in 2016. I would like to thank you from the depth of my heart and I hope you will continue to support the Tibetans in Delhi.”

Kejriwal led AAP won 62 seats out of the total 70 seats in the Vidhan Sabha or the legislative assembly elections of 2020 for Delhi. Kejriwal dedicated the victory to the people of Delhi. He will renew his oath for the office on February 16, 2020.
