Hungarian PM Gyurcsany meets Chinese counterpart

China wants to develop the fullest possible ties with the European Union and Hungary stands out among its members that has a good understanding of China, Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany told MTI in Beijing on Thursday after talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao. "China views Hungary as a kind of cultural and economic bridgehead," the prime minister said, adding that his half hour of talks focused on international and bilateral issues as well as the "one China" principle. Gyurcsany noted that Hungary's position on Tibet is consistent with the European Union's. It remains to be seen, he said, what benefits the Hungarian economy will reap from the successful Hungarian Cultural Season, which ended in China recently. Hungary expects the Chinese Ministry of Trade to determine which Chinese companies will be represented in the China Brand Trade Center to open in Budapest. the prime minister said.
