DHARAMSHALA, May 24: In wake of the terror attack that rocked the city of Manchester on May 22, President of the Tibetan government in exile today expressed his condolences to Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May and the British people for their losses.

“It is with an enormous sense of sadness that I convey my deepest condolences to the good people of United Kingdom and Prime Minister Theresa May,” President Lobsang Sangay said.

The 48-year-old Tibetan President said, “It is sickening to realize that the prime target of this dastardly act has been innocent children who were just having fun. Therefore, I express my utter disbelief and shock, and offer my deepest sympathies and prayers to those who have lost loves ones or were affected by the tragedy.”

The terror attack took place outside Manchester Arena during American singer Ariana Grande’s concert on Monday and resulted in at least 22 dead and over 60 people injured.

The Harvard-educated Tibetan president currently touring Washington DC to meet the new US administration said that the exile Tibetan government and the 'entire Tibetan people stands with Britain in this time of grief. I am confident that the perpetrators of this dreadful act would be brought to justice and bring solace and closure to the victims.'

Since the attack, the Theresa May’s administration has raised the terror threat level to critical, indicating another attack may be ‘imminent’. World leader such as the US President Donald Trump slammed the attack and called the terrorist a ‘loser’ for attacking ‘young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives’.

Initially thought to be an act of a lone terrorist, the police have since made three more arrests in connection with the attack.
