CALGARY: Kalon Dolma Gyari on Sunday met the Tibetan community in Calgary and apprised them about the Kashag’s policies, and the importance of the Tibetan resettlement program.
On 9 July, Kalon Dolma Gyari met Mr Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration & Multiculturism, and briefed him about the progress of the resettlement program. They also discussed the plight of Tibetan refugees in other areas.
Kalon will leave Calgary for Montreal on 10 July.
Earlier on 7 July, she was in Vancouver for the celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 77th birthday. She visited Tsengdok monastery and Thangru Monastery in the morning, and delivered public talk in the afternoon. Official birthday ceremony was held in the evening, which was attended by a large number of Tibetans in Vancouver, including head Lamas and monks of Tsengdok monastery, Thrangu monastery and Sakya monastery.
