DHARAMSHALA, November 17: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama today said that he will return to Tibet immediately if China agrees to give genuine autonomy for Tibetans. “I will never forget. If the Chinese government agrees (genuine autonomy to Tibetans), I will return to Tibet at once,” His Holiness said, consoling a tearful group of Tibetans requesting him to return to Tibet, before boarding a flight for Delhi.

The 82 year old Tibetan leader left Dharamshala for a weeklong three-city tour to Delhi, Bhubaneshwar and Kolkata.

The 82-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader’s first stop will be in the national capital where he will be giving a talk at Salwan Public School and Smile Foundation on 18 and 19 November respectively.

Following his two-day engagements in Delhi, the Dalai Lama is scheduled to speak at the Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) on 20 November in Bhubaneshwar, capital of Orissa.

The octogenarian leader will be giving a talk on ‘Revival of Ancient Indian Knowledge’ at the Indian Chamber of Commerce on November 22 in Kolkata. He is scheduled to return to Dharamshala on November 26.

His Holiness will then leave on a two-week visit to South India, which includes teachings in Mundgod and Bylakuppe. The Dalai Lama will also confer Hayagriva Initiation (Tib: Tamding Yangsang Kawang) at Sera Je Monastery on December 20 and give teaching on Tsongkhapa's In Praise of Dependent Origination (Tib: Tendrel Toepa) on December 20.

Following his South India trip, the Tibetan spiritual leader will be visiting Bodhgaya for a 50-day visit. His visit to the holy city will consist of two three-day teachings. Beginning with Dharmachakra Parivaretan Sutra on The Four Noble Truths (Tib: Chokyi Khorlo Korwe Do) and Sutra on Dependent Origination (Tib: Tendrel Chi Do) from January 5-7.

From January 14-16, His Holiness will give a teaching on Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Bodhicitta (Tib: Jangchup Semdrel) and Gyalsey Thokme Sangpos’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (Tib: Laklen Sodunma).

Mongolian Buddhist devotees will offer a long life offering to His Holiness at the request of Lamyn Gegeen Tenzin Jamphel Choijisheinen Tulku on January 16.
