Keith Dowman – angliai születésű buddhista tanító és író – a tibeti buddhista hagyomány Nyingma vonalának beavatott képviselője. Maga mögött hagyva európai egzisztenciáját a 60-as években Indiában mélyedt el a tibeti buddhista tradícióban a menekültként ott élő tibeti lámáktól kapott inspiráció és útmutatás nyomán. Összesen 25 éven át élt Indiában és Nepálban.

Tibeti nyelvből készített legjelentősebb fordításai a Calm and Clear, a The Divine madman / Az isteni őrült (Bódhiszattva, 2002) és a Sky Dancer Masters of Mahamudra, valamint a Flight of the Garuda / A Garuda röpte (A Tan Kapuja, 2003), amely Dzogcsen szövegek gyűjteménye.

Jelenleg buddhista tanításokat és meditációkat magukban foglaló elvonulásokat vezet Ázsiában és Európában, amelyeken lényegre törően, külsőségektől mentesen ismerteti meg hallgatóságát a tibeti buddhizmussal.

Keith Dowman, buddhist author and teacher, is an initiate of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Out of an existential background in Europe, he entered the lay Tibetan Buddhist tradition after gaining inspiration and instruction from the refugee Lamas in India in the 60s and has lived in India and Nepal for the subsequent twenty-five years.

His most important translations from the Tibetan include Calm and Clear, The Divine Madman, Sky Dancer Masters of Mahamudra and his most recent book the Flight of the Garuda a compendium of Dzogchen texts.

He now teaches Buddhist workshop and meditation retreats in Asia and Europe where he has gained a reputation for his direct approach to Tibetan Buddhism free of ritual and cultural trappings and jargon.
