Serious Dzogchen: Heart of Trekcho and Togal

The retreat will focus on Dzogchen Simply Sitting with Trekcho and elements of Togal meditation. The essential teaching consists of pointers to access this fundamental meditation. The Dzogchen View is of the essence. Twenty-four-hour-a-day Non-meditation is the basis. Meditators of all and any provenance with an intimation of the nature of mind are welcome. A previous introduction to Dzogchen is desirable for the retreat. Adjust your simply sitting meditation regimen throughout the day to your personal ideal and need.

Location

The hotel is situated in an olive grove in the Eastern part of the island of Crete. Close to the sea and near to an ancient Minoan archaeological site, an ideal spot for this secluded meditation retreat. The hotel provides simple rooms from single to quadruple occupancy for as many people who wish to attend this exceptional autumn event. Breakfast is included, while traditional lunch and/or dinner can be taken at tavernas 10-15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The teaching space is outdoors, but can be moved inside if the need arises. Sitting areas inside and outside the buildings allow for personal withdrawal or social communication. The environs invite walks in authentic Mediterranean countryside and include treks to Mt. Petsofas, a Minoan peak sanctuary, and also along the coastline. This time of the year the sea is still warm for swimming and the sun is less intense.

Travel information

Palekastro is located 20km east of the provincial town of Sitia in the far north-east of Crete. Arrive by ship or plane to airports at Heraklion (HER) or directly to Sitia (JSH). Then take the bus (KTEL), taxi and/or rental car. Help with transport can be provided upon request. Arrival before the event is possible on an individual basis. The latest checkout from the hotel is 1st Nov.

Places are secured with a non-refundable deposit of 100€ before 20th August. Later bookings are subject to room availability. Prices for 11 nights accommodation with breakfast and admin fee per person are 550€ (single room), 375€ (double room), 300€ (triple room), 275€ (quadruple appt).
