Meditation and Awareness - supports for everyday life
Public talk and two days meditation training with Claude AnShin Thomas.
Public talk/November 6 2015 18:00
Meditation training/November 7-8 2015 09:00-17:30
Adress/1084 Budapest, József utca 49.

The first challenge in life is to wake up and to do this one must stop taking intoxicants and stay stopped. The process to awakening requires reflection, stillness and silence. However for most people, there is the challenge of how to fill the underlying sense of dis-ease, the emptiness that external activities such as work, the search for excitement, entertainment (all forms of intoxicants) as well as the consumption of alcohol, etc. are used to fill? How to face the causes that keep one trapped in forgetfulness, the reputation of destructive patterns? The practice of meditation and awareness are effective tools which can support us to find answers to these questions.

After an abusive childhood, the trauma of military service in the Vietnam war and years of alcohol and drug use Claude AnShin Thomas started on this path of awakening. He stopped taking intoxicants, simplified his life and turned his focus from external solutions to one of self reflection. After a while he took vows as a monk within the Japanese Soto-Zen Buddhist tradition. With more than 30 years of a life free from intoxicants and 22 years of meditation Claude AnShin, living the life of a mendicant monk, goes where his invited to share with others the practice of meditation and awareness with veterans, prisoners, former addicts, families and all who would come. The tools that supported him in recovery and healing are what he passes along to us. They are tools that can support each and everyone of us.

I suggest everyone to come to the event and experience the practice of meditation. Don't let the money get in your way.  Don't let the lack of time to get in your way. Don't hesitate because of fear or prejudice. This is not about politic, not about religion, none of these are important. Just come!
